2014 Convention Tour

Wizard World Ohio

18 November, 2014

The first comic convention we attended was Wizard World Ohio 2013. I was so excited to be back in Columbus for Wizard World Ohio 2014. We have learned a ton about conventions and ourselves during the year. We started with about 15 shirt designs, a few decals, posters and wall arts. Now, we take over 30 shirt designs, tank tops, nearly 50 decal designs and we are still growing. We absolutely love going to conventions, and Wizard Word Ohio - or now as Wizard World Columbus- will always have a special place in our hearts.
This was the most successful weekend for us in 2014. Again, I debuted a couple of designs and they were very welcomed. Our new Gamgee Family Farms shirt design sold out by Sunday morning, people absolutely loved the new designs. We taking this positive feedback and we're going to build on it into 2015.
2015 looks to be a very busy convention year for us. Because of the way the calendar falls this year, we have a few weekends that we will be trying to do two conventions. We're not sure how this will all work out, but we're going to experiment and hope for the best.
Thanks to everyone who came out to see us in 2014, and we look forward to seeing you again in 2015 as well as meeting many new friends!!!

Awesome Con Indy

18 November, 2014

Awesome Con Indy was a first year convention in Indianapolis by the folks who bring the widely successful Awesome Con D.C. This was our second trip to Indianapolis on the 2014 tour. We met a lot of people in Indianapolis who enjoyed our stuff the first time around and requested some new apparel, so we did! The folks at Awesome Con are amazing!! They were super helpful and wanted to ensure that everyone in attendance was having an 'Awesome' time. They really do put together an outstanding show for everyone to enjoy. We were set to attend Awesome Con Milwaukee, but unfortunately the convention had to be cancelled. However, we do plan on making the trip to Washington D.C this coming May for their big convention. This is probably the show I am the most looking forward to in 2015.

Cincinnati Comic Expo

18 November, 2014

Cincinnati Comic Expo 2014 was just two weeks after the Cincy Comicon and we couldn't have been happier to be back in Cincinnati. This time, the convention was at the Duke Energy Center Downtown. The weekend brought nearly 20,000 people through the doors!! Every year this convention continues to grow, and we can't wait to see what next year brings. This is one of the conventions we have confirmed for next year.

Cincinnati certainly has a strong geek/nerd community who love to come out and support the creative types and to see the awesome Cosplays over the weekend. Many of our newer designs sold out or nearly sold out over the weekend. It was a highly successful weekend for us, and we can't wait to head back to Cincinnati next year!!

Cincy ComiCon

18 November, 2014

We made the short trip from Washington Court House to the Northern Kentucky Convention Center for the Cincy Comicon. This was an outstanding show and our first and only true comic con on the tour for 2014. The promoters of Cincy Comicon are 100% true comic book fans and they want to share that love with other fans. They had a stellar lineup of comic book authors, creators and artists over the weekend. No big time media celebrities at this show. Without those huge name actors other conventions get, the environment was way more intimate. You could actually meet and chat with your favorite authors, creators and artists and they legitimately wanted to talk with you.

We happened to be the only t-shirt vendor at the convention so wehad the pleasure of talking to nearly everyone in attendance. We debuted a couple of new t-shirts that were well received over the weekend. We had an outstanding time and we hope to come back in 2015!!

Fandom Fest

18 November, 2014

Fandom FestFandom Fest 2014 was our best show in Louisville for the year. During the weekend we got to meet a lot of awesome people; and even a few celebrities stopped by the booth to chat. This was our first year at Fandom Fest and we'll definitely be back next year. We did hear that the show was considerably smaller than past years, but we thought the attendance was decent this year. Across the aisle from us was the folks from Celebrity Machines. They make exact replicas of TV and movie car license plates. Our favorite is from the DeLorean in Back To The Future.

Indy Pop Con

05 June, 2014

We attended the inaugural Indy Pop Con in Indianapolis, Indiana from May 30 to June 1st. This was our first trip to Indiana as My Geekery and we were excited to be apart of this spectacular event. For a first year convention everything was set up perfectly. The vendors hall was filled with quality vendors, there was plenty of seating in the main panels hall, and a wide selection of Celebrities to interact with over the weekend. There was so much room inside the Indiana Convention Center that sometimes we forgot we were at a convention, but that is sometimes a welcome site compared to be shoulder to shoulder with other con-goers.

All in all, it was a good first trip to Indianapolis for My Geekery. Attendance was respectable for a first year convention and the attendees absolutely loved the event. We haven't committed to returning for Indy Pop Con 2015 yet, but we haven't ruled out returning. We want to thank everyone who stopped by our booth in Indianapolis and we hope to see you all again soon!

Indy Pop Con 2014

Steel City Comic Con

03 May, 2014

My Geekery made our second trip to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for the Steel City Comic Con. Our first trip was in December of 2013 and we had such a good time we decided to keep going back. Steel City is the largest Toy Convention in the United States. You can find pretty much every toy ever made from the hundreds of toy vendors there. It was like a trip down memory lane for me as I visited the vendors looking at all the toys I had when I was a little boy.

Our favorite part of visiting Steel City three times a year is getting to see all the people from the last show. The vendors and fans are excellent! We will be heading back to Steel City from August 8-10! If you're in the area stop out and see us!! We will have the same two tables again in August as we've had the past two shows.

Wizard World Louisville

03 May, 2014

Just two weeks after our first trip to Kentucky, we were back! This time we headed to Wizard World Louisville! This was our first trip to Louisville, as well as Wizard World's first convention in Louisville. The show was jam packed with celebrities like; Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, Sean Astin, Neal Adams and James Marsters. We were fortunate enough to have our picture taken with Matt Smith at this event. What a guy Matt is!

For a first year convention, the turn-out was spectacular and the fans were awesome!! We were lucky enough to even have some friends we made in Lexington stop by the booth in Louisville. Also, we had the Sister's Mischief stop by our booth in costume, This group of sister cosplayers are so talented and we're excited to have them stop by our booth and hang out. I may be a little biased, but I think those five sisters had the best costumes of the entire convention!

We enjoyed our time in Louisville and we hope to be making a second stop this year for Fandom Fest from August 1-3rd. We are unsure if Wizard World Louisville will be on the tour schedule for next year at this time, but we will definitely be back in Louisville again and again!

Lexington Comic and Toy Convention

03 May, 2014

Lexington Comic Con

My Geekery made our first appearance at the Lexington Comic and Toy convention in Lexington, Kentucky from March 14-16th. This convention was amazing!! The fans who came out to the show were excellent, many were excited to see us and what the rest of the show had to offer. Each year Lexington has been in existence, they have grown tremendously and we're extremely excited to be heading back there next year!! Again, we'll be located at Booth 100, so if you stopped out this year, you'll know exactly where we'll be next year, and hopefully for many years to come.

This year at the Lexington Comic and Toy Convention we released a few new 'Convention Only' shirts. We brought back our Jedi and Sith Code shirts and the fans absolutely loved them!! We sold out of those shirts in the first two days!! There is a huge Star Wars community in Lexington and next year we'll be sure to bring many more Star Wars inspired designs.

We would like to thank all the awesome people we met in Lexington and we can't wait for next year. It is such an awesome show, and we're thankful to be apart of it!!
